Oxehealth, boldly going where no one has gone before
'Star Trek' science company seeking new crew to help them break the next frontier
Following a fantastic year of investment and growth, Oxehealth seeks local talent to join rapidly growing tech team
Oxehealth, the camera-based health monitoring company spun out from the University of Oxford's Institute of Biomedical Engineering, is recruiting local talent to further develop its patented Oxecam non-contact vital sign monitoring technology. The technology has been dubbed 'The Tricorder' by some medical device industry insiders due to its similarity in function to Mr Spock's diagnostic device in the cult TV show.
The past year has seen Oxehealth go from strength-to-strength. "It's been a thrilling year for the company," says Jonathan Chevallier CEO of Oxehealth. "We've excited considerable market and partner interest and received phenomenal support and investment from Ora and our lead investor IP Group, the UK's leading intellectual property commercialisation company. The visit from the Ministers of Science and Research, saw our technology attract further attention when they observed in person what it's capable of."
Oxehealth combines an outstanding heritage as the first joint spin-out from the University of Oxford and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. The interest surrounding Oxehealth is because of its difference to many other medical spin-outs. The typical model is build devices and take them to market; instead, Oxehealth is focused on providing the software to enable a huge range of cameras to become vital signs monitors, simultaneously opening multiple market opportunities both in healthcare and other areas.
The company now wants to rapidly extend its technology and prove it in multiple environments and this will require more software developers and project management capability.
"We're looking for local, talented software developers, programmers and project managers and marketing personnel, to join our team, located in The Oxford Science Park," states Chevallier. "All our positions offer exceptional opportunities for growth and experience in a novel and technologically advanced area, as well as the chance to work with researchers, senior project owners and world-renowned professors from the University of Oxford."
